Sipaway Island Experience

I am not new to no water & no electricity.  If I were to live in an island I will survive. (char!)
When I arrived in Sipaway, our helper (Manang Tata) kept on reminding me that they didn't have electricity during the day. Power would be on by night, but unfortunately when I got there, there was no electricity because their machine was broken. How unfortunate I was! It didn't scare me though.

Even though there were no water and electricity it didn't spoil my vacation there.  My experience helped me appreciate electricity and water.

every drop counts!

Since there was no water, I need to get water from the well. It was such an enjoyable experience.

Home-made Pork & Beans.
I forgot the name of this food. But it tastes delicious.

Pedicabs/Trisicads

AROMA

I couldn't help myself from laughing to these kids when they called me TIYA.
(FYI: Tiya is their way of showing respect to their elderly.)
My conversation w/ these kiddos:
Kids: Tiya, pailog beh!
Me: Mga badjao mo kay pailog man?
Kids: dili wui. cge na tiya bah pailog bah!
Me (nahimuot): Hala! ngano gud ga tiya mo? tiya ko ninyo?haha

Sipaway, Negros.

Last May 12-15, I together with my sister went to Sipaway Island, San Carlos, Negros Occidental. Finally gisugtan najud tawn ko's akong inahan nga mo adto ngadto. Ever since college I really wanted to go there, but unfortunately mom didn't want me to, for some valid reasons.  Now, that I'm already working, she permitted me to go to places I wanted just as long as I can finance myself (wise mom!haha).

Approximately 2hrs to reach in San Carlos Port via Melrivic (the lancha's name) from Toledo City, but I won't recommend you to that because it's no good. The ship is so dirty. You don't want to kill plenty of cockroaches on your way there, do you? I would recommend Montenegro (fast craft) instead. Its travel time is only 1hr.

In going to Sipaway Island, you need to ride a trisicad to reach to the pantalan for bangka (small boat).

i was so amazed w/ their bikes. the wheels are too huge.hehe

this was what we rode on our to the island.
It will take about 20 minutes to reach to the beautiful Island of Sipaway.

Views from the Island:

The island has beautiful white sands and crystal water. It is surrounded by happy people. I had a wonderful time there. My experiences were amazing as well.

I'll be posting my island experiences to my next post. :)
