2013

The year 2013 had just passed by.  Who would've imagined that it ended just like a snap of a finger.  It just felt like yesterday that it had just begun and now we are all welcoming another year. It might not be a good year for me (and for some Filipinos too), but I guess I still have a lot of reasons to be happy in spite everything bad that happened. After all I survived and I'm ready for the next challenges 2014 is bringing me.

So, I want to share to you the snippets of my 2013. I don't want to sound nega so I'm only sharing my happy thoughts here.

JANUARY
(Group Date)

Getting the once-in-a-blue-moon-chance of hanging out with cousins and partners.  We rarely do this, so when we got the chance we immediately grabbed it without any second thoughts.

FEBRUARY
(A Surprise Valentine's)

My boyfie surprised me with this bouquet of flowers and a handwritten letter on Valentine's day and that is so not him. hehe.

MARCH
( Sample King's Visit)

An unexpected met up with Jhong Hilario (Sample King) at our place. He just finished  Island Hopping with his family this time. (The Perks of living near the beach. buot2x.haha)

APRIL
(Ninang Time)

I am now a Ninang.  Meet my 1st god daughter: Eunice Claire Soberano.

MAY
(Birth month)

Celebrated my 26th year.  I couldn't believe it.  I still feel like a 16-year-old-kiddo. hahaha

JUNE
(Family Time)

Toured Bohol with my not-so-big BVA (Baybayon Village Association) family.

AUGUST
(Jumega's Get-away)

Meeting up with my Jumegas and their kiddos minus 1.  This is also a very rare meet-up.  All of us are so busy (busy-busyhan guro) so we couldn't meet anytime we like.  Thank you for this time Jumegs! I love you all. mwaaah

AUGUST
( Traversing to Kawasan Falls from Osmena Peak)

My first ever mountain adventure. A very challenging, exciting, interesting, tiring, dangerous (hmmp???), fun, etc. experience.  I'm glad to have one of my bucket lists checked. It was such a fulfilling experience even though I thought I was going to die.hahaha

SEPTEMBER
(Green Team)

I'm a passive green team member (Celi's Colored Team), but these activities up here were exemptions. haha.

On top: Basketball Game.  I am an avid fan of basketball.  So when we had this activity I tried my luck to this game.  To my amusement, I realized I could play basketball a lil well (hambugera mode activated. hahaha).

Bottom: Green Spice (Spice Girls Theme).  This was also my first time ever joining and performing song and dance presentation to Celi's pips.  I'm demure you know!hahaha. FYI: We also won in this competition. I think I was the lucky charm for our team.hahaha.

OCTOBER
(MOVIE: Love Me Knot)

The unexpected actor and actress.  Originally, we were not the ones but because the main actors backed out we were pulled out from the production crew. So, we ended up as the main actors of our movie. (This is also one of Celi's many activities.) Because of this movie my childhood dream came true. That is to be an actress. wahaha

NOVEMBER
(College Friends Random Meet-up)

Catching up with my busy college buddies.

DECEMBER
(Christening and Christmas)

I am a Ninang again.  Meet my 2nd godchild: Ace Kedric Quiachon.

My students were spending their Christmas at my place with my BVA Family.

That's it. My 2013. It's not a bad year anyway.  Thank you for the good and bad memories you brought to me and the rest 2013. You really were 13. If you know what I mean. Cheers for you and for the coming years!!

Osmeña Peak: A Climb To Remember

One of the things listed in my bucket lists is to try the Cebu's known highest peak: Osmeña Peak.  I've always wanted to do mountain trekking but, I have no one to share it with.  So when my colleagues invited me to do it, I excitedly said yes. One list has been checked!

Osmeña Peak is located in Mantalongon, Dalaguete.  It is also popularly called the Little Baguio/ Vegetable Basket in Cebu because of its cool climate.

I don't know why I love to climb, perhaps because I live near the beach that's why mountain adventure is quite interesting for me.  Climbing is kinda tough though but the feeling when you're already on top is such a fulfilling experience.

Getting there and pushing through the plans were such a brave decision I and my colleagues had ever done.  We almost felt like giving up but since we wanted to experience the peak then we went on.  We didn't even know where to start so we ended up saying "BAHALA NA SI BATMAN" (an expression that means giving your fate to the superhero).

Because of our courage and bravery we actually did.  We arrived there safe and sound. It was indeed a superb experience.

Here are some of the pics of our adventure.

together with my mountain mates.haha

that awkward smile. lol

Trio.

More pics soon and I'll write about our story there on my next post. Enjoy!:)

Journalist by degree, not by profession!

I graduated with a degree in Mass Communication, but I never practice my profession.  I don't know.  Perhaps media world isn't my calling.  If you asked me why I took that course, I would answer you in a simple and frank manner.  It would be "I WANTED TO BE AN ACTRESS!"  Yeah! You've read it right.  It may sound so funny, but believe it or not that was one of my reasons why I took MassCom. That time I thought being a MassCom student would be my gateway to be a celebrity.  Damn!  I was so wrong!haha.  It needs so much effort and sweat to be one of them. Gossssshhhh!  Why didn't I think about it??  The only thought I had that time was to become an actress and that's it! I have to be blamed for my situation now.haaha. Kidding!

Well, I don't have any regrets though because in the first place no one had ever forced me to be there.  It was all my decision.  What do you think, was the decision right or wrong or so-so? Hmmmmppppp.... thinking mode!  Answer me in 1 million sentences.  Intiendes? haha

Anyhow, at some point in my life I want to practice my profession but I'm scared.  I'm scared because I'm not confident enough and people might laugh or might not appreciate my write-ups.  So, I ended up writing secretly.  I know I love writing but not the Journalism way.  Only the Kathleen/Kayeohn way of writing. haha.  (Buot2x to the maximum level. wink2x!)

Seriously, if I already gain confidence in writing I would be more than willing to be a Journalist.  But for this time I'll stick to my K-writing style.hahaha

Valentine's Date!

Like any other girls, I also wish of having a date, receiving a bouquet of flowers and of course a box of chocolates on Valentine's Day.  Who wouldn't want, right?

I and the boyfriend celebrated Valentine's twice.  There was what we call the Pre-Valentine and the Valentine itself.  I never expected this to happen.  However, I was hoping a little that boyfie would make an effort to make this Valentine special.  And to my astonishment, he really did! He must had read my post a year ago about this day.haha.  It was an intentional post!hahaha. That's just a secret. Shhhhhhhhh!

Anyway, we went to LANTAW FLOATING NATIVE RESTAURANT in Cordova, Cebu for our Pre-Valentine Date.  I think it was not really a pre-valentine, but purely a couple dinner date. hehe. Since that day fell on the same week with the valentine's day then I considered it as our pre-valentine dinner date.  I don't know about him if he felt the same way too. haha.

PRE-VALENTINE DINNER DATE (Just I think.haha)

VALENTINE'S DAY

The day that I was waiting for had finally arrived.  Oiiiiiieeee...expectiiiing something??!!! >.< Seriously, I expected but not really.  Knowing my boyfriend's personality, It's so impossible to receive some flowers on that day.  But, I really day-dreamed that he would give me some. haha.  And he actually did! That was the first time ever! I hope that would be the start. I'm crossing my fingers for that. weeeeeeeeeee.

A BOUQUET OF FLOWERS AND A LETTER
He handed me the bouquet of flowers after fetching me from work with matching a handwritten letter. It made me teary-eyed (pero atik ra!).  I couldn't believe that he made such effort. In the first place he keeps on reminding me that he's not really good at giving corny/cheesy things to his girlfriend.  He has even no talent of writing hand letters too. I remember before I kept forcing him to give me handwritten letters and he would reply that he didn't have that talent.  So I stop forcing him. Therefore, I conclude that MIRACLES happen.

I only hoped for a flower, but he gave me a bouquet of flowers with matching a handwritten letter made by him.

VALENTINE'S DINNER DATE
We had our dinner at KUMBIRA in Lahug, Cebu.  Good thing that it was not full there.  We thought that we would end up eating our dinner at 10pm. Thank God we were able to eat early and crowd free.  But the traffic jam was killing us. haha.

It was the best Valentine's so far for the both of us. Hoping for more in the years to come. weeeeeeeeee. :)

PS: Dear Noy (Shane), your effort is greatly appreciated. Thank you for granting my wish.hehe. I love you. mwaaaaaaah.
